Background
A native of Rochester, New York, Scott’s first passion was music. Scott attended Oberlin College where he studied trombone in the conservatory and served as a tutor for the Economics and Music Theory departments. Scott completed his graduate work at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music, where he received a Master’s degree, Performer’s Certificate, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the age of 25. Scott taught music for the State University of NY at Geneseo and at Texas Christian University before embarking in a new career in personal finance.
Outside Work
An accomplished trombone player, Scott continues to perform today as Principal Trombone of the Las Colinas / Garland / Arlington Symphonies, as well as with his quintet, the Perennial Brass Ensemble. A long time advocate for animal welfare groups, Scott has been a volunteer and foster home for Operation Kindness since 2002. In his free weekends, Scott enjoys spending time with his former foster dog, Livvy.
